Birchrunville cafe building
The Birchrunville Store Café was established in 1898, initially serving as a creamery. Over time, the building transitioned into a general store and post office. In the late 1970s, the general store was transformed into a café. It wasn't until 1999 that Chef Francis launched “the Birchrunville Store Café”. Remarkably, the building continues to accommodate a functioning post office to this day.
It’s a historic building, and we strive to preserve its original charm as much as possible.
We've restored the original sign and some items from its days as a grocery store. The allure of this place is truly undeniable.
The Birchrunville Store Café often found themselves enchanted by the warm, rustic décor, where antique furnishings told the story of the building’s rich history.
The café's rustic interior, with its exposed brick and vintage décor, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Patrons would often gather around the small tables, enjoying lively conversations over freshly meals and decadent desserts. The walls were adorned with historical photographs and memorabilia, paying homage to the building's rich heritage.
